How do I stop my fence from rotting?

It looks clean, provides excellent privacy and is available in heights from 1.2m to 2m. For a more decorative look, framed lattice panel fencing or hit-and-miss style panels are increasingly popular.
Do I need planning permission for a 2m fence?
Generally no — fencing up to 2m at the rear and sides of a residential property is permitted development. The exception is at the front of a property facing a highway, where the limit is 1m. Conservation areas, listed buildings and some new-build developments have stricter rules. We advise during your free site survey and ensure your installation complies.
